Over five decades, DSYA grew into a strong statewide network supporting sports, physical education, and youth development across all of Goa.

Directorate Founded
The Beginning
The Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs (DSYA) was established under the Government of Goa, laying the foundation for organised physical education and competitive sport across the state.
Founded shortly after Goa's integration into India, DSYA was born from a vision to harness the coastal state's natural athleticism into structured programmes, coaching infrastructure, and lifelong youth development pathways.
